• Amsterdam City Archives identifies the bridge as a design by H.P. Berlage linking Ceintuurbaan and Weesperzijde.
• It is a double bascule bridge.
• The counterweight sits beneath the road in a bascule chamber.
• The ballast box contains concrete and scrap; balancing the span reduces the energy required to open and close it.
• The bridge was demolished, rebuilt and reopened on 12 April 1986.
